It’s nearly the weekend, so it’s time for us to update you on checkpoints throughout Ohio.
So far we’ve only heard about one for this (hopefully) sunny weekend.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol will have a checkpoint in Portage County on Saturday night. They will release the time and date information on Saturday morning. We will try to circle back with them for details.
As always, our list is not exhaustive as we depend on several sources for our information. If you hear of another checkpoint feel free to contact us or post it on our Facebook page. We would also do our regular reminder that this blog does not support drinking and driving in any way. We report checkpoints to keep people aware of their rights and raise awareness about how cops are looking to stop drinking and driving. Our advice is always to designate a driver if you’re going to drink.
As many of you know, last year we did a wonderful article on drinking while watching baseball. One of our intrepid reporters wore an ankle monitor while enjoying the festivities of Cleveland Indians’ opening day. We did the same this year, only this time our undercover source also had a breathalyzer. Apparently he lived this year’s experience to the max, however, and he still hasn’t filed his story. If you saw our writer out on the beat, and you see him again, tell him to sober up and send in his post. In the meantime, enjoy last year’s post again and keep checking back. As soon as we have it, you’ll get to read it.
See you next week. Same time(ish), same blog.

Cleveland is full of good attorneys, but you need Taubman Law if you’re looking for a great attorney who will care about you. The team at Taubman Law handles OVI/DUI, personal injury and workers’ comp cases.
Summer is starting to wind down and football is upon us. This is a mixed blessing, of course, but we like football at the Ohio OVI Blog, so we’re feeling pretty good.
But the end of summer has police out in droves around the state. Already we have word of checkpoints throughout Ohio, and the details are below.
Since there are so many this week, we have broken the checkpoints down by day. We have called the usual areas and will update you if we hear more. We’re also still waiting to hear updates from our friends in Central Ohio.
As always, our recommendation is that you avoid drinking and driving at all cost. This will keep us all safe. Should you get charged with OVI in Ohio, however, we want to ensure your rights are defended. The law firms of Taubman Law (Northeast Ohio) and Hastie Law Offices (Central Ohio) have experience taking care of their clients.
Without further ado, here’s this week’s list.

Should you get caught up in a jam, however, we have two law firms ready to defend your rights. In Central Ohio we have Hastie Legal Offices. In Northeast Ohio we have Taubman Law. Both firms know how to protect the rights of those accused of OVI in Ohio.

OK, so details about checkpoints for this upcoming weekend are pouring in now. Below you will find the information we have about checkpoints in Cleveland, Columbus, Bratenhal, Portage County, Ravenna, Walton Hills and Zanesville the next few days.
As always, the easiest way to avoid getting caught driving drunk is to designate a driver when you go out.
Cleveland – The city will be running one tonight (Thursday) at Broadway Ave. and Baxter Ave. It will start at 9 pm and end at 1 am.
Bratenhal – There will be on Lakeshore and East 140th from 10 pm to 2 am Friday.
Portage County – There will be a checkpoint tonight at State Route 43, Portage county.
Ravenna – The Ohio State Highway Patrol will run one this week. They didn’t announce the day/date, but it will likely be Saturday. We’ll update you when we hear more.
Walton Hills – It looks like they will have one Friday from 9 pm to 2 am on Northfield Road.
Remember, we want you to drive safe, but we also want your rights to be protected. If you run into trouble with OVI/DUI law in Ohio, contact us and we’ll defend your rights.
And, our friends at Hastie Legal Offices in Columbus report that there will be a checkpoint Friday night in Mifflin Township. It will be on Westerville Road at Innis Road from 9 pm to 3 am.
Also, Zanesville will be having one in south Zanesville from 10 pm to 2 am. It will be in Newton Township on US 22, just south of the Wal-Mart.

Hot Friday to you, Ohio. We hope you are reading this somewhere that’s nice and cool.
It looks like there aren’t any checkpoints in Northeast Ohio this weekend – at least none that we’ve heard about thus far. We’ll keep you updated if that changes. As for Central Ohio, we’re still waiting to hear back from all our contacts and will let you know if we hear anything.
In the meantime, people often ask us what cities we call in Northeast Ohio, so we’ve compiled our usual call list so you know.
Stay cool. We’ll post updates if we have any.
We also call Cuyahoga, Stark, Summit and Portage County.
We’re closing in on 1,500 Facebook friends. Want to be lucky number 1,500? Like us today. Prefer to tweet with us? Follow us on Twitter @OhioOVINetwork.
Happy turkey time Northeast Ohio. The team over at Taubman Law is about to take a long weekend to enjoy the season, but we wanted to get our weekly list of checkpoints out before everyone begins their holiday travels.
Because so many people travel this time of year there are checkpoints and saturation points all over the area the next four days. So, while you might be tired of hearing us say it, we’ll say it again: If you’re going to be drinking, designate a driver. Take our word for it; you don’t want to deal with a DUI or OVI during the holiday season (check out our Cuyahoga County DUI site sometime to see what a pain the punishment for DUI/OVI is).
Anyway, we already know about checkpoints in Elyria, Euclid and Portage County this weekend. The details of those, along with the list of other areas we checked, are below. If we hear anything else we’ll keep you updated.
In the meantime, we’d like to use this time of thanks to say how much we appreciate our readers. We’re over 700 ‘likes’ on Facebook and have had several posts go over 500 views on our blog. We hope this blog helps keep our community safe. We’re big fans of Northeast Ohio here at Taubman Law, and we’re always happy to help you defend your rights. Feel free to give us a call or shoot us an email if you ever need anything.
In the meantime, enjoy the stuffing and eat the last piece of pie while nobody is looking.
